Sunday Activities at Hostel :P

Sunday is the most entertainment and fun filled day of the whole week... especially in hostels... you see hostilities doing all sorts of work... some preparing for the next class, others washing clothes... but that is not the same with us...
This Sunday we went out! (Commercial Market: Me, Qasim, Hamid & Mukhtiar). The fun began when we reached there. Qasim had to get a hair cut so we set off for the search for a proper barber... after lots asking and watching we got to 'German Siccors' and Qasim had the world most quick hair cut in 5 mins for Rs 200/- :D:D
After that we had some snack and then the most funny part... Mukhtiar disclosed that he waned to buy some shoes for himself and he has a normal budget of Rs 1200/-. But obviously Qasim & Hamid had other plans for him so we got into a Servis Shoes shop and when we came out Mukhtiar had Rs 4095/- worth of shoes in his hands and there is no need to tell that his pockets were empty...




After that we again had some snack and then we Hamid got his clothes from a shop and we started out journey back to the hostel. Still my haircut and Hamid's "Lettercut" style shave had to be done. I got my haircut just right but Hamid couldn't get his "Lettercut" style shave right MOST UNFORTUNATELY!!!.

Ali's b'day Prarty!

Today we celebrated the birthday party of one of our classmate M. Ali Chaudhry. He turned 38 as per cake says but actually i think there is (+-) 2 years error in it.
Tabassum and Bilal brought Ali's b'day cake and Qasim and Hamid made the music arrangements. I myself made the birthday charts with the help of Rizwan Shinwari CR. Brithday was celebrated at social huts in which all they boys were present. Girls joined the party too (briefly) but it was all entertaining. After eating the cake we took some pictures with M. Ali. Then Hamid entertained us with the songs collection that he brought with him in his laptop.
When the songs thing was going on suddenly Qasim, Ahmed & Hamza started dancing. We enjoyed the dance performacne for quite sometime then M. Ali offered us drinks which we accepted instantaneously :P

Babar Left for Hajj

Today Babar,our Class CR, left on his journey to Saudi Arabia to offer Hajj. Before he left we had a brief tea gathering with him in which everyone greeted him for getting the opportunity to go to the "Khana Ka'ba" (home of Allah) and offer Hajj there. We all pray for Babar to complete his quest for which he has left and return satisfied. We all expect too that Babar will remember us in his prayer.

On  24 November, tuesday we'll celebrate the 31st birthday of M. Ali Chaudhary in PIDE. A 4 pound cake has been decided but flavour is yet to be finalized. So if you have any suggestions as to what should be the flavour please comment and let yourself be a part of final decision. We formally invite all the students of M.Sc Economics 1st Semester to attend the b'day party of our senior class fellow.

Revolution!!

Ladies & Gentlemen i hereby inform you that Mr. Hamza (M.Sc Economics Ist Semester) has finally bought the book of Statistics by Freedman. When i interviewed him he disclosed that he has no intentions to even slightly touch the book as it would get it dirty. He intends to pass the midterms and exams with 'BARKAT' of this book. So if you want Hamza to understand the importance of reading the book after buying it please do so in comments :D

btw i don't understand why is tabassum so happy :P

Stream Again :D

Aha! Now that is what really feels good... Whole class together... and fun :P. So here is the story what happened!
As always we made a spontaneous plan to go to stream with the whole class and for that we had two options either to bunk the stat class or to ask Sir Zahid to re-schedule the class. Fortunately we didn't have to bunk the class and we left at around 01: 30pm. After some walking on rough rocky paths ("miles of hinking" for some) we got to the stream.
Now the exciting part begins! :D. The water was cold and Qasim was the first to jump in the water and after that others were coerced to go into the water too (don't get too excited! we didn't throw the girls)... "thrown" into will be more appropriate here ahahaha... Babar was the second the rizwan, hamid, yasir etc. I was the one who got the "special treatment". 5 boys lifted me up and threw me into water and they didn't stop there after throwing me in the dragged me in the water too :D:D
Well one one us managed to stay clear of this bilal... ofcourse we'll catch him one day and settle the score. Girls were also enjoying very much. From the girls side Memona was the first to stand in the water... (only stand ok :P) atleast all of them got their shoes off and tried the cold water.
While boys were throwing water on one another Memona got caught in the crossfire :D. I'll won't give the details but thats enough to amuse all of you!
After that we had some group photos...(fortunately i didn't get a no from the usual "no" sayers except one) but this time i'll appreciate them. And then the 'crazy boy' Qasim started dancing with other... it was really funny.
Then we got back to social huts.. it was cold and some of us used a cup of tea to warm themselves up.

Attan Dance

All i can say is that the scene was beautiful and the fact that i saw it for the first time, i couldn't take my eyes off. When i turned around i saw lots of students standing there watching it.
Attan is a traditional Afghan Dance in which, dancers have to dance in circles most of the times closely matching their steps with one another and create harmony....
And believe me Students of IR department of Quaid-e-Azam  University gave a perfect demonstration in front of Social Huts on the road. The most exciting thing is that the whole thing was arranged on the request of Khan Asad Khan who also took part in the dance.

20/20 WOW!!!

Hold on!!!...............................................................Ok you can let go now... So here is what happened.... yep, we got our statistics quiz back today. Almost everyone got through but there was one who stood out!

Thats him on the right... The name is Tabassum, hardworking and intelligent. And the most important thing is that Sir Zahid Asgar promised him a chocolate for getting 20 out of 20 marks. Thats all about the dude on the right... Now lets talk about the man on the left :D. The name is Hamza and he got 10 out of 20, probably the lowest in the class but listen to this... he got 10 out of 20 marks without opening the statistics book for even one day! he doesn't even have one hahahaha...
Well i don't know when is Sir Zahid going to give Tabassum his promised chocolate but i can't wait so Tabassum here is your chocolate.

As he likes Snickers :P. Well enjoy Tabassum and Congrats.

Gilgit Baltistan's Independence Celebrations

62 years ago, in 1948... roughly one year after the independence of Pakistan, people of Gilgit Baltistan won their right to freedom from the Dogras and consented to be the part of Pakistan. In the process some great freedom fighter gave thier life like Col. Hassan who was the most prominent figure in the fight for Gilgit Baltistan's independence. People there feel the same energy today as thier ancestor's felt at that day 'the day of independence' and they celebrate to renew those memories.
Few days ago a celebration of that kind took place in PIDE (Social Huts). Asif Hussain, Hamid Hussain and their friends hosted the party. A beautiful cake with "62 independence Gilgit Baltistan" written on the face of it was cut. Students from all sections of PIDE were present and witnessed the celebration.
In the start Asif Hussain gave a short speech introducing students about the independence history of Gilgit Baltistan then the cake was cut...

First Class Gathering-cum-Party :D

Amid controversies and in a tight budget constraint we at last managed to have the first gathering-cum-party of our class. It was quick and easy :P. All of the classmates had fun... at least boys really did! (don't know about girls "think i have to use my guessing power :P"). We were accompanied by our stats teacher Dr. Zahid Asgar. Some 'other' personalities were also prominent in the gathering like Hafiz Irfan who did manage to fill himself up to the neck with pizzas :D and Zubaida Batool who was doing the double job of eating pizzas and hiding herself in a corner! Girls were very reserved except some of them.. so if you don't find any photos of them here it's not my fault... actually they didn't allow me to take the pictures... NOT EVEN IN THE CLASS GROUP PHOTO!!!

Then We Went to STREAM :P

Whats better than a beautiful stream running through the mountains... and a university on the side of it! :P. Well when we got into the university we couldn't find anything to entertain ourselves because if i must tell you our uni is at a quite boring place... so the presence of the stream was blessing for us. So, we made a plan to get down to the stream and spend sometime there.
